How is CHR4012 organized? Devs answer...

We have wanted to tell you about the structure of CHR for a long time and we believe that this is the best place. After the survey and some questions that have come to us about the length and focus of the project we would like to make an entry talking about some BTS things about the game and how it is organized.

CHR is a game divided into three story arcs and will have an approximate length of 15 linear chapters (more taking into account the division into routes). The second fact is nothing new, we have announced it for a long time through the FAQ, but the first fact is perhaps more interesting to explore than it seems. So let's dedicate a few lines to it.

  • From chapter 1 to 5: We have already passed the first story arc and it’s the introduction to the world of Chronicles and its characters. For us, it also means the arc of Jordan (our MC), where they will fully introduce themselves into the story and meet the entire cast. Our main objective in this part was to get all the characters to be linked to Jordan and in return, to involve them in a very direct way with the main plot. It may sound simple, but tackling a story with nine routes is a 'complicated' topic. At the same time, it’s an arc in which there are many small details that go unnoticed, but we promise that they will be very important later on. Each chapter, except for the first and last, is linked to a specific duo. If we stop to look at the unlockable images, all the characters have two exclusive images with the exception of Pin, Joe and Kyeran who are the characters that enter later and to which episode 5 and the end of the arc are dedicated.
  • From chapter 6 to 10: The second story arc and the one we are in right now, is a transition arc. Where you are going to see a lot more action and in which we are going to focus almost completely on the subplots of the characters and on strengthening ties with Jordan. Obviously, we will have an outcome that we hope will be as interesting as the assault on the laboratory, but we cannot tell you anything about it. Now that Jordan has chosen a faction, he will be able to spend much more time with the protagonists and get to know them in depth. Not all character subplots in this arc will be closed, but a large number of them will. We also want there to be new challenges and antagonists that will make their lives more problematic and in which Jordan has a lot to say. We love being able to empower you and see how things unfold in a world that we want to be as open as possible.
  • From chapter 11 to 15: Final arc, where our main objective is to close the subplots of characters that are still open and enter, in full force, with the general plot, the one that has been developing while you help to set up some tents in the desert or when you went to find a casual job at the Roller Coaster. But although it has been taking shape and being more relevant each time, it has not yet fully emerged. Everything is going to become more violent and fierce and all the decisions that you have been making and that have influenced your morality bar are going to have a reason to be.

We understand that CHR is a game that mixes some concepts that may seem strange, such as supernaturals and cyberpunk aesthetics and that it tries to cover a lot of things, but we promise that we are giving our 110% to do justice to the story we are developing. We hope that this short entry will serve to guide you on our plans ^^.
